yes, it's that simple.
as you used to in life, answers to most of the questions,
especially the complicated ones are astonishingly simple.
one evening, 26 year old boy that can't help but think too much.
laid on the bed and after another session of his thinking about
this and that, things and life, came to conclusion that the meaning of
life is evolution (and did that without help of any drugs)
it all makes sense.
it is the answer to all the meaning of life sub-questions.
what will happen when we found out what is the meaning of life?
will everything explode? implode? change into something else? will
I simply die if I found out meaning?
since we now know the answer, everything is clear.
meaning/evolution is let's say infinite thing, like space is
suspected to be. the best way for your mortal brain to understand
how something can't have end is one simple thing - numbers.
there is no last number, there is no end, they are immortal.
evolution is just like that.
now you know the answer to the meaning of life and still
everything stays the same because of a simple fact that you can't
"reach" evolution, you are constantly doing "that" and you can't
end it.
the only way to reach the end of evolution is to make everything
"perfect" and since perfect doesn't exist because everything can
always be better, you can't end the evolution.
it's like that carrot on a stick in front of a donkey. he is always
going forward, never able to reach it.

he may die but many donkeys after him will become stronger, faster,
better by chasing the carrot they will never catch.
evolution
girl: oh, I thought meaning will be love :'( it is all I want and
the best feeling. ktnx
boy: oh, I thought it was sex =) it is all I want and the best
feeling. lolz
all those answers like love, family, making little offsprings are
pretty close to the meaning of life, that's why many people think
about them or feel them as the meaning. they are actually all part of
the evolution and part of the answer. little offsprings are maybe the closest thing to correct answer, but, as you all know
now, evolution is THE answer.
It's hard for a human to see the big picture, watch evolution as it happens so if you want to understand your purpose, better take micro plan, or one-person plan as example.
Evolution could also be replaced by some smaller similar word as progress.
Simple example of evolution or progress is any athlete, let's say 100m sprinter who is learning to run faster and faster, progressing and at some point in life he is breaking the world record, which means he run 100m fastest in the history of mankind, faster than any other man ever - he evolved. he evolved his muscles, his speed. evolved his body or simply - evolved.
I know most of you are (after starting fascination and excitement)
now little disappointed by how simple it is and how it's another
thing that you can't reach in your miserable life :)
and you expected that meaning is something glorious like Beijing Olympics opening, foots made of fireworks walking across the sky
and that reaching the meaning would be something like 10 times
harder than the hardest last level enemy of any video game that
only the chosen one can reach and convert earth and whole space to
one big heaven.
but hey.. it's like everything in life. like when you get together
with the best and prettiest girl/boy in the world and after a
while (s)he is no more angel from above, cumulated perfection in
human form or anything like that, but becomes just one great human
being called angelina jolie :)

| Coleman | I love this idea | |
| Paul | Interesting idea, but I think its important to set you mind to a particular area worth evolving in. I don\'t see whats so great spending hours training to be a great athlete. Surely theirs a greater problem to be tackled? | |
| hydraulicjj | i figure that there is no meaning of life. because if the meaning of life is evolution why are we evolving? if we have no reason to evolve then there is no reason to life. the same can be applied to various other answers to the meaning of life. if you have any questions ask me at joeisbignard(at)hotmail.co.uk | |
| David | ive been thinking every day for a, well really long time. the meaning of life is to survive and reproduce. thats what all the cells do, thats what every single living thing does. but to survive, life must evolve to its surroundings, so you are right. (PS: didnt feel like reading all your paragraphs right now, so dont know if you explained this.) |
|
| lupus6x9 | Sorry, just don't think that's it. Come back to me when you can prove evolution exists in itself. Or just try to prove to me that even the physical world exists.... And you're not the only one who thinks about this lying on the bed, you know. ;) I'm twelve and I've been doing it since forever. |
|
| bob | good way to put many minds to rest.. or maybe evolution is a partial answer.. who are we evolving for? | |
| Abbey | It's really all that we can see as the meaning, isn't it? We exist so that we may continue existing, and get better at it. But it\'s also kind of depressing. It's impossible to think of any higher purpose that our evolution serves. Even Douglas Adam\'s explanation of why Earth was created (see The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) is better than nothing. | |
| spacecho42 | perfection does exist, but within each persons brain | |
| Louise Lewis, author | Wonderful to learn of a 26-year old thinking about the meaning of life...And to think that at 26 he knows THE meaning. Can't wait until he ages a few decades to find out if his answer evolves. Great post! take care, Louise Lewis, author No Experts Needed: The Meaning of Life According to You! | Aron | Ya know what...I buy it. Well, my own interpretation of it. All the same though. Nice. |
